January 2018: New Year, New Us

Welcome to our month of January.  I let go of social media and decided to put this blog back into use to keep track of what we are doing. Although scrapbooks are somewhat out of date, this will act as ours. My hope is to have clear intentions with this space to keep family and friends in the loop and journal a bit about things we are doing.

She asks for salad regularly now, so it is something I always have on hand. Romaine hearts + caesar dressing is her favorite so far.

Ollie scored some well loved & new Pokemon cards for Christmas. Adam and Ollie are learning how to play together. Board games and card games are a regular occurrence on the weekends  - brings back great memories for me because of all the cards and games I played growing up.
Ollie took a ride on the segway at the Oklahoma Science Museum - we visited during his winter break.

He took a training ride first. Then back in line to give the obstacle course a go. He loved it - although he had to watch his cousin go first in order to even give it a shot. Always a bit hesitant to try new things, but genuinely proud and excited in the end. I'll have to post a bit about our ski trip we took in December on that note.
The kid crew at the Oklahoma Science Museum. Quite a fitting picture to show their individual personalities.

Not much more fun than a box and a wild imagination!
Annie had to give it a try also. I think Ollie is pressing buttons and levers in his space ship.
Ollie built this track all on his own. Annie waited eagerly to give it a test run! I enjoy watching them play together.
Annie received an Amazon gift card for Christmas and happily picked out some PJ Mask bracelets. PJ mask is one of her favorite cartoons - where regular kids become super heroes.
At Mothers Day Out, "school", they often paint hands and feet for art projects. She loves to paint and usually one of her hands is covered in watercolors. She calls them "footprints" and it's adorable.
Annie's favorite thing in the world next to Mama, Daddy & Ollie is SWINGING! There is a great swing set next to Ollie's elementary school. We try and swing any chance we get! Such Joy!
And Sass of course! "Annie, can I take your picture?".........
Happy Birthday, Adam! Birthday Donuts requested and delivered!
MLK Jr parade pics. SO COLD! But fun! Who doesn't love a good parade to celebrate such a worthy person & cause?
The ski gear came in handy for the freezing temps!
Annie loves to dress herself. She is always able to put one sock on, but the other is troubling. I have no doubt she will get there soon!
Ollie helped brush Annie's hair before school one morning. She requests different colored clips to keep her bangs out of her face.
Out to lunch with my mama and several other ladies before the Women's March! What a gorgeous day - great conversations about the progress made and gains yet to come.
Every Thursday at Annie's MDO program, we watch the garbage can emptied into the truck. We both love it. This is a season of simple joys at our house - it's the little things in life! Truly!
Zoo trip with friends. "Annie, give me your best Roar!"
Daisy & Annie - featuring Annie's pigtails! She finally let me put them in!! We have been watching Daisy for my mother-in-law. We really like having her around and like to think she enjoys being with us too -  Although I am sure the torture from a particular 3 year old gets a bit brutal at times.
Skate Night! Annie tried roller skating and loved it! She did the limbo twice!
Ollie gave roller skating another try and loved it also. He went so fast, this is the best picture captured. Also, not pictured is Adam skating beside 200 other kids!!!

We are looking forward to a birthday filled month in February!
